~Where to make the "BIG $ BUCKS"~

*************************

I've written several newsletters on how to make an above average salary as an ST and also other avenues to pursue to get into the higher brackets of $-$'s.

And one of the top questions I continue to get on a regular basis is "How Much $-$-$" can an ST make..??..

Well, aside from all of the ways I've mentioned in the past newsletters and in the Surgical Tech Success Handbook on how to make big bucks, here's one I never really touched on:

--->Work in smaller Rural areas<---

Yep, that may sound a little nutty to you big city folk out there (I know, I was once a big city guy myself) but believe it or not, I've heard time and time again how smaller Rural hospitals pay a higher wage than bigger city hospitals.

NOT only can the wage be higher, but the cost of living may also be much lower in most cases.

I've personally worked in big city hospitals where I've actually made $2 - $3 LESS than I did working in a smaller community hospital.

Another benefit of working in smaller rural type facilities is often you may have the opportunity to get more "hands on" first assisting experience and add quite a bit more diversity to your surgical skills.

The trade off's of "big city" vs. "small rural" can be debated for many moons to come.

But just keep in mind that there are SOME smaller community hospitals out there that are willing to pay you a very nice salary to come on staff.

Think about it and keep your options open.

The grass is not always greener in the big city, I mean it's nice green grass in the big city hospitals, but it's not always greener :)

Until Next Time~

Your friend,

Robert Prince, CST

~THANK YOU & A Gift for You~

*************************

Before I get started and tell you about your gift from me, I would like to take a moment to say THANK YOU for all of your support.

As I mentioned in my last newsletter/update, my mom passed away recently and it has been pretty difficult.

However, I must say the supportive emails, cards, and letters I received from all of my wonderful newsletter subscribers and surgical tech friends really helped keep my chin up.

I really never expected the type of response I received from all of you and I must say the letters of support were exactly what I needed.

I'd like to thank you by not just saying Thank You, but rather, I've created an "In Honor Of..." thank you page where you can see a photo of me and my mom, read a quick note, and receive a FRE'E download of the Surgical Tech's Little Black Book by clicking on the "Thank You For Visiting..." link at the bottom of the page.

Thank you so much for your support!
