WOW!

I really don't know how else to describe it...

WOW!

Yep, that pretty much sums it up!

Let me tell you something, I'M EXCITED!!!

I mean, I'm really excited!!!

It's so amazing how my Surgical Tech Education has paved out a productive, meaningful, and rewarding life.

Now, I'm not bragging or trying to sound arrogant,

RATHER,

I'm just stating the facts.

You see, I was invited to be a guest speaker at the 9th annual Surgical Technology Bowl at Midlands Technical College earlier this month.

I really didn't know too much about the ST Bowl or exactly what they were going to be up to...

BUT,,,,

IT WAS AWESOME!

AND ever since I spoke to the attendee's at the bowl, I've been blessed with a rewarding feeling that has really touched my heart.

Ms Kathy Patnaude, CST & Surgical Technology Program Director at Midlands Tech, her school, staff, and a host of other Surgical Tech Programs from around the state of South Carolina got together for a "quiz bowl" to help prepare Surgical Tech Grad's for the CST exam.

It was exciting, fun, educational, and EXTREMELY well put together.

It was also quite obvious that Ms Patnaude worked very hard organizing the entire event.

Here is the ST Bowl photos page:

AND I do not want to "short change" the efforts of anybody who helped Ms Patnaude bring it all together because I'm sure it was a joint effort among many.

I'd really like to personally thank Ms Kathy for contacting me earlier in the year to speak at the event.

AND I'd also like to thank all of the attendee's, Surgical Tech programs, ST professionals, and the staff of Midlands Tech for making me feel welcome and appreciated!

You see, I feel so blessed and inspired when I speak at events such as the ST Bowl.

The feedback and encouraging words I received after I spoke has touched my life.

The energy at the event when I was on stage was incredible.

I felt like I was "on fire" (meaning it was GREAT) as I spoke to the audience.

They were full of so much positive energy and had an overwhelming willingness to get involved.

Listen, when I was working my butt off nearly 20 years ago to get through a military surgical tech program, I never thought that I'd become a National Speaker for the Surgcial Tech profession.

But, as I said at the beginning of this newsletter, it's so amazing how my Surgical Tech Education has paved out a productive, meaningful, and rewarding life.

AND, just in case you're wondering,,,

The road has not always been smooth,

the O.R.'s have not always been a "cake-walk",

the world of surgery has thrown me a challenge from time to time,

BUT---

I kept showing up,

putting in my time,

getting the experience,

developing my skills,

increasing my knowledge,,,,

DEVELOPING & KEEPING THE RIGHT ATTITUDE,

and

NEVER GIVING UP ON MYSELF!

AND

----> I hope you realize I am no different than you or anybody else!

If I can do it, YOU CAN DO IT too!!!

Just never give up and keep the faith~

You really can do anything you set your mind to!

WHATEVER YOU WANT TO DO in the world of Surgical Technology is simply a matter of setting your sights on a goal, imagining it to be, and persist until you get there.

Your goals may change along the way and your path may have a fork or two in it, but you have to start somewhere.

I mean, there was a time I thought I was going to be a big-time martial arts superstar actor while I worked as a surgical tech in the day time and studied acting at night...

BUT, without getting into a long detailed story, (maybe next time), my goals of becoming a big time actor (while I supported myself working as a surgical tech) led me to other paths along the way.

Anyway, (before I get too far off track here), I want to reiterate that, I'm EXCITED about where I've been able to go after completeing my ST education,

and I hope you get excited too.

The sky and your imagination is the limit!

Thanks again Ms Kathy and every single person involved with the ST Bowl from the great state of South Carolina for being a part of my journey.

I hope we all meet again!

Until next time~

Robert Prince, CST
