~Do You Really Want to be a Traveling Surgical Tech?~

Seriously, do you really want to be a Traveling Surgical Tech?

WELL, no matter where you currently stand about Surgical Tech Traveling and if you eventually want to get SERIOUS about becoming a surgical tech traveler, here are 5 TOP TIPS to prepare yourself with:

1) GET CERTIFIED...

Many hospital travel assignments prefer certification.

2) EXPERIENCE...

Most travel companies require AT LEAST 1 year of experience.

3) Contact your Travel Recruiter OFTEN...

The more you contact your recruiter, the more you'll keep abreast of new opportunities, the more serious they know you are about traveling, and the more they will remember you when an assignment with your criteria comes up.

4) Think about the HIGH DEMAND TRAVELING Fields... (these are the areas you may want to get a lot of experience in)

examples include: Open Heart, Orthopedics, Neuro, Spine, Vascular

5) BE FLEXIBLE...

Travel assignments for Surgical Techs are very competitive. If you limit yourself to only one particular location, you will greatly reduce your chances of traveling. Be flexible until you get a little travel experience and remain persistent.

Listen, if you are really serious about surgical tech traveling you have to prepare yourself.

Hospitals who are looking for surgical tech travelers are often in a position to pick and choose among a pretty large selection of surgical tech candidates.

The reason for this is that ST's are realizing that traveling is a GREAT way to make a really nice income while enjoying many of the FRE'E PERKs, like housing & bonuses.

THEREFORE, the more of a supply the surgical tech travel industry has, the more competitive it becomes.

The more competitive it becomes, the better prepared you have to be.
